This year marks the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Canada and the wider organization of Canada’s communist movement. The Communist Party of Canada, founded under conditions of illegality in a Guelph barn on May 28, 1921, has over the past century made indelible contributions to the working class and people’s movements in Canada, and has seen an immense growth in membership and strength well into its 100th year.
On Sunday, May 30th, the Party will host an online event to celebrate its centenary featuring speakers, spoken word and poetry, music, archival material, and a sneak preview of a new documentary about the Party.
