The Committee for Europe and North America (CENA) of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) denounces the orgy of repression unleashed by the Turkish government against all those who oppose the plans of the US–NATO imperialists, who are meeting these days in Ankara to discuss the “next day” of their war.
The CENA of the WFDY condemns the unacceptable arrest of comrade Miloš Karavezić, First Secretary of the Union of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ), who was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, 1 July by the Turkish police authorities for his political activity.
The suspension of democratic rights, under the pretext of a NATO meeting, with the prohibition of all public gatherings, demonstrations, street marches, press conferences and distribution of political propaganda, confirms once again the barbaric nature of this politic-military bloc.
We demand the immediate release of comrade Miloš Karavezić, who can only be judged by his commitment to the struggle for a better world.
